Marvin Edeas - Visiting Professor at the Cochin Institute

Marvin edeas frequently works at INSERM, CNRS and Paris Descartes University in the Department looking into Development, Reproduction, Cancer. He holds studies that examine how microbiota metabolites impact the mitochondrial activity of nephrology patients. Since 2016, he has affiliated with the Paris Descartes University (Cochin Institute) as a professor (visiting). Marvin Edeas got to be a part of a team responsible for cell proliferation, inflammation and oxidative stress.

Marvin Edeas - Chair of the French Society (SFA) and International Society of Antioxidants (ISANH) and Founder of the World Mitochondria Society (WMS)

Research on mitochondria, oxidative stress, microbiota, differentiation, inflammation, cell signalling, the activation of Nrf2 transcription factors and their significance in various pathologies are the main focus of Marvin Edeas’ research. In particular, he investigates the connection between microbiota and mitochondria. As well as being committed to their applications in preventive and therapeutic treatments, the SFA supports the usage of antioxidants in health and nutrition. The SFA, Marvin Edeas and ISANH strive to transfer their research to real-world applications whether clinical, pharmaceutical, nutritional or cosmetic.

Marvin Edeas - A Globally Acknowledged Scientist

Many businesses utilise Marvin Edeas’ expertise. The Chair of the International Society of Antioxidants quite logically takes care of his yearly congress, Paris Redox. As founder and former Chair of the Mitochondria Society, Marvin Edeas co-edits the company's magazine and is Chair of its annual congress.

In the '90s, Marvin Edeas conducted extensive studies on the acquired immunodeficiency virus. Back in the year 1997, he identified the factors which produce blastogenic plasma in Type 1 cases of HIV. At Paris Descartes University, Marvin Edeas highlighted the impact of co-infections and oxidative stress in patients suffering with HIV.

Marvin Edeas has filed two patents, in the US and Europe. Two Nrf-2 modulators separated from proteins and peptides, which can stimulate the antioxidant system of defence, were discovered by him. The patents of Marvin Edeas pertained to the use of an oyster enzyme hydrolyzate within a composition that modulates oxidative stress and gets rid of free radicals.
