Bai Hao Silver Needle is named after the Da Bai Hao tea leaf from Fuding that this tea features so prominently. Bai Hao simply refers to the large furry leaves that are completely covered to the point to which they resemble soft down feathers. The aroma is treasured among all white teas, and although it has many similarities in flavor to cheaper whites like Bai Mu Dan, there is simply no mistaking the enduring quality that each of the many multiple infusions bring to the cup. Also this tea does not need fancy storage, as a simple sealed environment carries it through many years of aging where the aroma and depth develops even further.
