Qian Liang Aged Black
Qian Liang Tea is an amazing sight to behold. It may be difficult to imagine from what you see here, but these discs of compressed black tea are cut from an enormous 5 foot tall log of bamboo-wrapped tea. Qian Liang simply means 1000 Ounces (Chinese ounces) which comes to roughly 110 Lbs or 50kg of black tea! In reality it is not so precise, but the name has come long and far and the tea has become highly respected for its medicinal value, especially when tied to drinking with or after large meals and more importantly its amazing effect on lowering blood pressure. We'd heartily recommend it if only for its fantastic potential for helping people with such common problems as high blood pressure. The tea masters involved in this tea's production will often show off the tea with a hand-held microscope at hand to allows others to see the naturally occurring yeasts that build up within the tea. These microscopic white-yellow dots are an obvious sign of good aging and quality tea.
