Since black teas often possess a robust and rich flavor they are unlikely to be overpowered by any added flavors and aromatics. This makes them perfect for blending with fruits and other herbals in order to broaden the variety of tastes -- and occasionally this happens to produce a tea that is more memorable than the original leaves themselves.
