Decanting pots are generally the final serving pot for the tea, and contain only the strained (decanted) tea liquid. Essentially the concept of decanting tea is to stop the tea leaves from continuously releasing their flavors. When you drink a pot of over-steeped tea with the leaves sitting at the bottom you are experiencing a perfect opportunity for using a decanting pot. Straining the tea before it gets to this point is a great and simple idea!
